23 Things on a Stick

A library learning 2.0 project

When I tell my friends about this training course their response is "OH, I would like to do that." In fact, several have asked if they could join. I think there are a lot of patrons who would enjoy an online learning course that pertains to learning whats on the web.
When I review the first 23 and this next 23 I find 10 items which are a must. Blogging, RSS feeds, Mashups, Nings, Twitter, TAgs, Online Images, Wikis, Podcasts, Homepages, Games. Then there could be "Another 10 Things on a Stick" for additional training.
If this could be linked to library websites I think there would be a lot of hits.

I think it would be GREAT for our patrons, friends, and families. Really, it would be great for everyone. I would add social networking to your first list of 10 things. Facebook and MySpace not just for the tech savvy or under 40 crowd!

I agree people are interested in knowing also.

I like that idea -- I think there is quite a lot of interest in these tools and if there were a briefer version of them, available on the library website, it might be quire popular.

I agree wholeheartedly too. Is there anything saying that we can't use some of the information and make our own "10 Things?" It would certainly be easiest to use what is already done (it has been done so thoroughly too!) but in a pinch we could improvise and change things up a bit. Don't want to overstep copyrights or anything though. It would be nice to know the full policy, etc.

I'm sure we would have to obtain permission to reuse or modify the wiki due to copyrights. Perhaps when the program is over this option could be developed.

What a wonderful idea!

The original 23 Things Blog is still up and anyone could work their way through the things. They would just not have feedback or a potential reward at the end.

Someone could create a non-library personage 23 Things forum here on Ning or elsewhere to ask and answer questions. There would of course need to be high intrest for that to come to pass.
