Comment by Gretchen on March 23, 2009 at 9:25am: Though I'm not a librarian, I'm a big library supporter & user, also on the SELCO Board representing Rushford Public Library. And I knit, of course. Socks are my main projects lately. I love the challenge and the comfy socks too.

I have been busy knitting slippers for soldiers for MN Nice Project, which sends out care packages to service people overseas. I also made a couple of helmet liners. I love working on these projects for soldiers. Check out Operation Toasty Toes www.operationtoastytoes.org for more information.
I also learned socks this winter, and want to make some more.

Comment by Karla Gedell on March 20, 2009 at 6:13am: So what are you working on? Now that it's warming up I'm losing my enthusiasm for mittens. Oh well. Started a pair of red socks, am almost finished with some wristlets using Mountain Colors yarn, and am hibernating another pair of toe-up socks until I can rip back the short rows and figure out where the heck I am in the pattern [sigh].

BTW, the Borealis Too yarn shop in downtown St. Paul is excellent. I'm still a fan of Amazing Threads in Maple Grove (on 85th just east of Arbor Lakes shops).
