The Difference Between Friends and Friends

Here's a great commentary on the difference between online social network Friends, and off-line friends.

("The Difference Between Friends and Friends;"
Eric Etheridge comments on Dana Boyd's blog post in the New York Times' "Opinionator.")

Instead of posting the Boyd's original blog, I'm posting Etheridge's commentary on the blog, which is a quicker read. I think Boyd is on to something with this section:

"But I don’t think that the technology is to blame. I… Continue

Love the photos! I follow your Paper Baubles blog, and noticed that you are working for readmobile. How do you like it?

I did a badge with my granddaughter, son, and his girlfriend and my daughter thought I had taken a picture of the badge. Funny!

Andrea,
You asked whether prospects are better in the corporate library world compared to public/subbing environment, and I'm afraid not. I'm keeping my broader skills open (library 2.0 anyone?) and have done some info interviews in the academic world. Corporate library world seems awfully undependable.

Also, separate issue, I used one of your 23 things badges on my 23 things blog (replacing the countdown clock since I met the deadline). The ticket badge looks great on my blog. I'm about to check back in to my blog. This whole 23 thing - thing has been a great experience. Thanks for your contribution for the greater good.

Hi Andrea. I'm doing my 23-things bit, and saying hello (never done this before on a social networking forum, but I guess that's the point. I was a MPL sub librarian for a few year, but then fell into the corporate world. I remember subbing fondly.
