Playing around with Ning

I'm toying with the idea of creating a social network on ning for my teens (I work in a public library) to continue our book club discussions throughout the school year. (Busy schedules -theirs and mine- don't permit a monthly book club meeting throughout the year. Gotta cover the desk, you know).

Sometimes, it does seem that we are doing these things just for this class and I will never try them again. On the other hand, I have found many useful things (I work in a K to 8 school) that I can and probably should be doing with my students, if only to be ahead of them on occasion.
